Manchula Navaratnam, MD

Manchula Navaratnam is a UK trained pediatric anesthesiologist who came across the Atlantic in 2009 to gain more experience in pediatric cardiac anesthesia and has been part of the Stanford anesthesia family ever since. She is the clinical anesthesiology lead for pediatric cardiac transplant, ventricular assist devices and patients with single ventricle at Stanford Children’s Hospital. Her clinical and academic interests mainly revolve around peri-operative care of pediatric patients with heart failure, cardiac transplantation, ventricular assist devices and single ventricle physiology.
Manchula is a passionate educator and is the founder and director of the pediatric cardiac anesthesia learning network at Stanford which launched its first national weekend workshops in September 2022. Manchula is also actively engaged in faculty development for pediatric cardiac anesthesia faculty at Stanford and beyond and serves on the board of directors for the Congenital Cardiac Anesthesia Society.
